She has performed in the US, Europe and Canada, and has had the honor of working with artists such as Jose Vences, Viviana Basanta Hernandez, Lila Downs, Mariachi Sol De Mexico, Luis Miguel, and Lore productions. Under the mentorship of Jose Vences, Ms. Gonzalez-Onofre was inspired and encouraged to be an educator. She returned to school in 2016 and completed her studies with a Teaching Credential from Cal Poly Pomona in 2018.
As a teacher, Ms. Gonzalez-Onofre encourages students to take risks, develop their non-verbal dialogue in dance, and put to practice the discipline and skills needed for success in their craft and life. She believes that “practice makes permanence”: when students are learning new skills, providing quality corrections and the tools for improvement will help students develop grit and unlock their potential.
