Mr. Zekofsky has been in the field of education since 1995.Before coming to ArTES, Mr. Zekofsky worked as the Medical Magnet and Math & Science Magnet Counselor as well as the Immigrant, Newcomer Counselor and Bilingual Coordinator at Van Nuys High School; he was the Director of Education for an International Education Non-Profit; an Assistant Principal of Counseling Services at Franklin High School; a biology teacher at John F. Kennedy High School’s Architecture, Digital Design, and Filmmaking Magnet; and a teacher and counselor at Hollywood High School’s Performing Arts Magnet.He has experience as a Gifted & Talented (GATE) Coordinator, School for Advanced Studies Coordinator (SAS), and a WASC Accreditation Coordinator.
His educational background, includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology from Bard College; a Master of Science (MS) degree in School Counseling from the University of La Verne, and a Master of Education (MEd) degree in School Administration and Policy from UCLA.
As a counselor, Mr. Zekofsky aims to discover how his students’ interests align with their course selection and extracurricular activities, and use this discovery to help them succeed in both school and life.
