Bio
Tro Manankichian received his undergraduate education from California State University Northridge, and earned his BA in history. He later earned an MA in United States history, also from CSUN, with an emphasis on history of the west. Tro recently finished the Accelerated Collaborative Teacher Preparation Program, earning his credential with high honors, and won the Most Outstanding Student Teacher Award for spring of 2016. Tro completed his second semester of student teaching at ArTES Magnet, and enjoyed it so much that he wanted nothing more than to become a Social Studies teacher at the school. ArTES offers students an excellent opportunity to expand their mind not only academically, but also through their own creativity. Tro believes that a positive self-esteem is essential for all young adults if they are to learn and develop in healthy ways. He also believes that designing a classroom where students are not afraid to take risks and fail is central to creating inner strength, motivation, and a lifelong desire to achieve and excel.
