Bio

Nicole Lopez received her BS in Exercise Science at the University of Southern California, and received an MA in Special Education and Educational Technology from Azusa Pacific University. At USC, Ms. Lopez was the tenor saxophone section leader in the Trojan Marching Band and traveled to football games around the nation, marched in the Rose Parade, performed with Fleetwood Mac, played at the World Expo in Lisbon, Portugal, and participated with the band in TV shows and movies. Prior to teaching, she worked as an Art Department Coordinator in film and TV productions. Ms. Lopez is an original Design Team member of ArTES Magnet. As a resource specialist teacher at ArTES, Ms. Lopez finds that an arts education is an integral part of a student’s academic growth. An arts education showcases a student’s talents and abilities in ways that go beyond the traditional classroom, and is highly effective for all types of learners.
