Joshua Rauh Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Davis where double majored in Italian and Dramatic Art. Before graduating Sum Laude, Mr. Rauh spent a Year studying at the Universita’ Di Bologna studying theater history in the prestigious Disciopline delle Arti, della Musica e dello Spettacolo (Department of Art, Music and Performance.) Upon returning for his senior year Mr. Rauh received the top award for academic excellence by the UC Davis department of Theater and Dance. Mr. Rauh enjoyed a career in Hollywood producing, directing and acting in the independent theater world. Mr. Rauh’s teaching experience is extensive, ranging in setting from theater conservatory programs, to independent schools to comprehensive high schools. Mr. Rauh was able to truly realize his passion for teaching when he designed and opened ArTES Pilot in 2011with seven of my closest friends and highly respected colleagues.
Mr. Rauh’s teaching philosophy can be expressed through the ArTES Magnet motto: Student Citizen Artist. He believes that a teacher’s job is to guide students to achieve in these three domains, and to continue the lifelong process of growth in these areas. As students we are always, growing, striving for knowledge and learning from the wisdom of others. As citizens we show empathy for the people creatures with which we share the planet. We are engaged in our communities and work to leave this world in better than we found it in. As Artists we live creative lives. We create, innovate and appreciate the beauty in the randomness and order of life. Mr. Rauh wears many hats at ArTES Magnet including: Resource Specialist Teacher, 11th /12th grade Advisory Curriculum Advisor, Member of the Leadership Team, Governing Council Chairman.
