MUSIC
Music studies at ArTES are specifically tailored to meet the needs of every performer, regardless of experience level, as they develop to meet individual and ensemble goals that are both challenging and rewarding. Students who choose to study music exhibit a level of growth mindset that is second to none, develop professional working habits, and graduate with the self confidence that is needed to succeed at the collegiate level. All that is needed to get started is an open mind and a will to succeed… we have everything else covered!
Families of incoming students who have prior experience are encouraged to schedule a private lesson with the director anytime during their eighth grade year or later. This is NOT an audition! During this time, we will discuss individual goals, determine appropriate class placement, and get to know more about each other and what ArTES has to offer. If you’ve already got an instrument, great—bring it! If not, don’t worry: we’ve got plenty!

“I didn’t play any instrument before coming to ArTES. Now I play the trumpet and I know how to read music. Marching Band is challenging, but in my two years here it has really become a family to me and that commitment makes it possible to be here at 6 in the morning, go to class all day and sometimes stay until 9 at night. And I have been able to experience a real feeling of accomplishment.”
