Family Night – The Culminating Event for ACE
Friday night was Family Night, the culminating activity for the three-day ACE program that the freshmen have been participating in. After spending three days at Cal Arts, the freshmen met up with friends and family at the small gym for pizza and a celebration of their successes over the last three days.
Students were asked to come up and share what they had learned at ACE and how they could use ACE in their lives. Then parents, friends, and family were asked to come up and tell the students what they appreciated about them.
In addition, there were several students performers: Kristin W. and Genesis R. sang. Manny rapped and Anthony sang a beautiful Spanish song. It was a special evening filled with laughter, tears, and lots of hugs. Mr. Sutherland brought the CCLA band by for a special performance and made a special invitation for the students to come and be a part of the band.
Special thanks to our Educare facilitators Malaika and Lanell; Ms. Lopez for organizing everything; our Peer Leaders and alums who worked so well with our freshmen, the families who came out to celebrate their students, and especially the students themselves.
