STAGE TECH
Imagine a colossal musical stage production. Now, take away the actors on stage. What you are left with is Stage Technology. Students learn about all the “behind the scenes” production work and artistic/technical skills like set building, lighting design, sound design, production marketing, props, crewing, and costume design. In addition to learning and applying the many aspects of technical theater, students will also participate in providing technical support and assistance for school/community events such as dances, assemblies, outdoor performances, concerts, football games, conferences, commencements, parades, etc. Stage Technology is a hands-on, practical and exciting class in learning professional level skills employed in the entertainment technical field.
Students who complete three years of Stage Technology, including the capstone class, will have completed a full CTE (Career and Technical Education) Pathway.

“Being in stage tech has given me purpose. I work on productions at school and off campus, there is always something to do. Because I am part of a team, I have been able to meet a lot of people while also learning about professional collaboration and successfully partnering with other people on completing larger projects. At ArTES, we work with state-of-the-art equipment, so we understand how people in the industry work, which is a great career preparation.”
